In the first quarter of 2024, the top five communication apps in the Netherlands experienced diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance metrics for WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram, Messenger, Snapchat, and WhatsApp Business.

WhatsApp Messenger saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, peaking at approximately 65K in the week of March 4. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users growing from 13.7M at the start of January to 14M by the end of March.

Telegram showed consistent revenue generation, with its highest weekly revenue reaching around $13.5K in mid-February. Weekly downloads remained steady, averaging around 33K to 39K. The app's active users increased from 1.36M to around 1.55M over the quarter.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced a gradual increase in both revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue peaked at $620 in the last week of March, while downloads saw a notable rise to 26K in late February. Active users, however, showed a slight decline from 2.48M to 2.34M.
